Massive airliners flying sideways

When an aircraft lands, it usually lands as head-on into the wind as possible.  This is why major airports usually have at least two runways.  However in extreme conditions the wind doesn't co-operate and is blow across the runway at an extreme angle.  When this occurs pilots need to perform a cross wind landing.  And sometimes they look very strange.
