When an aircraft lands, it usually lands as head-on into the wind as possible. This is why major airports usually have at least two runways. However in extreme conditions the wind doesn't co-operate and is blow across the runway at an extreme angle. When this occurs pilots need to perform a cross wind landing. And sometimes they look very strange. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POu1e71OlMo&feature=player_detailpage |
